DAY6 - The Book Of Us: Negentropy Album Listening Party

I was actually quite surprised that I didn't cry at all while listening to the album and then they hit me with the harmonies in the final verse of the final song and it was like all the emotions of the entire album series filled into one and yeah you guessed it I cried lol

After listening to this album yesterday when it was released, so let's love was an instant favourite. I couldn't place the other songs though, but after watching your reaction and hearing the songs with lyrics this time, above the clouds and healer are up there as well. Wow, what an ending to an amazing series of albums.

great reaction as always dude. someone wrote that you make mydays fall in love with the songs again and appreciate them anew and i def feel that! glad someone else already brought up the lyrics to "above the clouds." anyone who's lost someone in the past year will be simultaneously destroyed and comforted by that song. this album was pretty polarizing for me cuz there were songs that blew my frickin mind but the retro-sounding songs i found a little cheesy so that was tough. Def a powerful and fitting (imo) way to close out the series. Now it's up to eaJ to keep putting out fresh songs and something tells me YoungK has some surprises up his sleeve before he enlists...

Woah. That was another rollercoaster for me. My ranking so far: 1. So Let's Love - the harmonies just blew me away, the melody, the instrumentation just everything really and it's the perfect counterpart to Demon's Afraid. 2. Above the clouds - this one hit hards too, Jae and Sungjin made this together. Sungjin actually did the arrangement for this too. Jae said the lyrics are about his friend who passed away. 3. You make me - Wonpil really did bag this. It's by Young K and Wonpil and I guess that's why they shine the most here and the drumming 👏👏👏 4. Only - so I got the same vibes as you did, it sounds like something an 80's or 90's soul band would make instead. I really loved it tho, so nostalgic. The rest are mostly on the same level and interchange rankinga depending on my mood. Lmao. Great reaction! Btw, I know you're Wonpil biased and he released the demo for Like A Flowing Wind so it's just his vocals alone on there. You might wanna check it. Afraid from the Demon album also has a demo by Sungjin. Both are 300x more emotional than the studio versions soooo yeaaaaah...

I finished the reaction, OMG. I still thought it would be a "sweet" album but So Let's Love left me crying. LOL. My favorite songs were So Let's Love and ONE mainly. I saw a comment asking for Gravity, will you react? From that mini album it's my favorite Day6 song, it's so WOOW and I'd love to see your reaction. please! 🧡✨

Not going to lie but I really have to thank you so so so SO much. I've been with you since your first Day6 reaction, and I've been a fan ever since. I listened to all of the songs in this album the first moment I woke up from bed today. But, after watching this video, you always make me fall in love (deeper if I might say) with the album's songs. Idk, your reactions really come off as genuine and make me appreciate the album so much more. I'm just as exhausted as much as you are.... and idk how to say it but this album is just so goood. Like you, I can't rank but I really loved Above The Clouds and So Let's Love...

I just watched the whole video and to be honest, Above The Clouds is also my favorite pick because I'm also a sucker for angsty songs. LMAO. A brief background on ATC, this was co-written by Jae who said this song is about his friend who passed away due to a heart illness... which makes everything more depressing.

Also, I absolutely can't wait for your reaction to the Demon because it is probably the most depressing album ever so yeah :D. I mean with something like Zombie as the title track, what do you expect haha? Also, my favourites b-sides are definitely Healer, Above the Clouds, and Let's love again!

Again, I don't know how to comment cohesively, so I'm just going to pour out my thoughts. :)) ONLY really sounds super retro!!! Like what one of my mutuals said on Twitter, it sounds like a modern jazz song. Meanwhile, Jae said he wrote Above the Clouds long ago, reminiscing about his old friend who passed away due to heart illness. Their songs can really be interpreted in a lot of beautiful, bittersweet ways! So Let's Love is my favorite, and for me, it's a wonderful way to recap the series. Talking about how people have come through so many struggles, and yet we still have the chance to love each other more. (T_______T) Yes, 7 tracks have just been credited to Young K as a songwriter!!! He's a song-making machine, really. You're right, too! Negentropy really has the message "we made it". After all the internal struggles from Entropy and The Demon, it concludes on a hopeful, beautiful note. Thank you so much for reacting to DAY6! <3

So fun fact, the song above the clouds is written by Jae including lyrics. He was writing them while keeping in mind a friend who passed away from heart disease. That's why it is called above the clouds because it means heaven. So re-reading the lyrics, it is actually way more depressing than I thought it was. D:
