Day6 beens so quite now i miss OT5... i wanna be at their concerts!!!

NIROKU

TBH, I prefer the official concert versions for Day6's Youth tour. They did all the adlibs and most of the BG vocals too. There's a full album version somewhere on Youtube if you wanna react to that someday. They also had a heavier arrangement for I Need Somebody in that too. This one is really good too but the crowd interactions are so minimal, probably cuz the stage was too big and too far. I haven't been to any of their concerts but the fancams look promising. I'm also big into going to shows with a bit more rowdier crowd so I'm looking forward to that. No mosh pits but there was this one fancam where a bunch of people made some sort of space during dance dance for a "dance battle" if you will. They also have this song called Free!, where Jae and Sungjin ditches their guitar and literally goes down to the crowd to jump with people. Wahhhh someday... And I also trust Day6 will sort themselves out including Jae when the time comes. I do follow Jae closely and as imprudent as he may seem on twitter and streams, he has repeatedly expressed commitment to Day6 so yeah. And FT Island, dude. I followed them in their earlier years and Hongki is really one hell of a vocalist. I don't know anyone who can deliver the way he does (at least not yet). He's also one of those idols who tried to promote kbands with his radio show before. He featured Day6 a lot and and Young K paid it forward when he took over the same radio show years after. So cool! i heard they're working on an album now, so I'm also anticipating that.

i've missed my dark ft island, it's what made me fall for them, especially hong ki's sorrowful and dark expression through the music!

Gah, i love your reactions. As soon as i saw that you'd be reacting to Gravity Shoot me, i just sat their waiting to see how you'd react to Wonpil's high note in the bridge - insane, right?! And yep, i saw them live and can vouch that they are stupendous live. not because they're perfect but because they're LIVE, truly present. Jae and YoungK throw in vocal adlibs all the time and they're RIDICULOUS. incredible pitch and control. and their musicianship is a joy to behold. no crowdsurfing, i stayed away from the pseudo moshing. everyone sings, cries along and dances their asses off. i really do hope you get to see these guys live. you will def have the time of your life (ha). FTR, def check out more live footage. there's tons of decent quality fancams on YT and the boys live is truly magical.

Bring it on 🤘

I love when a new band/group captures me with the first song I listen to haha

That Day6 live performance was probably in Korea, judging by the fanchants and the lightsticks. There are no official videos from their last US tour, but there are some fancams on Youtube. In the US shows, they seemed more animated on stage and the mixes brought the vocals down and the guitars up (my constant annoyance with Korean live mixes is that the vocals are too loud, like an old school country mix). No spoilers, but I keep talking about how the mixes are better for Superband 2. Very soon, you are going to get some of the heavier songs you are looking for.

I love these songs and these performances so much. kinda related, but I also saw your reaction to nell as well & I'm really happy someone requested them because they are an iconic band & I really love them, happy that you liked their song too

What's going on with Jae now on Twitter? :/ The first couple of "dramas" that happened where he took a hiatus were people twisting his words or meanings OR not understanding sarcasm. That's the biggest problem with him that I noticed in his Twitch streams...hes SUPER sarcastic which I love because I have that sense of humor but so many people would take his jokes and think he was being honest or they misunderstood his tone. I just feel bad for him. I feel like Twitch was kind of his escape from being censored and held bad. I get he has a "idol" image to maintain, but he seemed genuinely so happy because it was a chance for him to hang with genuine friends from his apartment due to the anxiety he was dealing with at the time. Sorry, I think I may be protective of him lol

Shoot Me live is just....God I dream of being there live lol like come on that has to be such an experience.

Where's The Truth is definitely my favorite album of theirs! It's just killer song after killer song. Although, I love all of their albums so it is hard to pick. Thanks for requesting FTIsland!

Seunghyub learned from the best! FTIsland was really kind of the first "mainstream rock band." Every band in the kpop scene now stemmed from what FTIsland really pushed for. FTIsland was really the only band on music shows until CNBlue (their labelmates) debuted and CNBlue is much more pop. FTIsland really had to push for the Korean public to accept them. So you will find that when they started they did a lot of ballads with rock vocals and then slowly began adding more and more rock elements. Their Japanese stuff does tend to be a lot heavier. They were actually performing in Japan in the 2nd video which is why Hongki was speaking Japanese when talking to the crowd. The whole band is fluent in Japanese because they are extremely active in Japan. Also, you can watch Honggi join N.Flying on stage (N.Flying opened on FTIsland's tour) for a fun little medley of FTIsland songs and it's so adorable. It's from the Planet Bonds 2018 tour.

Shoot Me: Youth Part 1 & Remember Us: Youth Part 2 album reaction. PLEASE? Once you've finished the Book of Us series obviously.

Life's a Beach

I looooove seeing FT Island popping up for requests because not a lot of people react to them. It stinks because they weren't like, the first Kband, but they were (in my opinion) the first to kind of cross the bridge of band + kpop if that makes sense. And because of FT Island's success more companies realized they CAN have bands succeed and that opened up so many other opportunities for talented instrumentalists and vocalists! I honestly think (heavy bias aside) that we wouldn't have as many "kpop" kbands if it weren't for FT Island.

I can't wait to go to concerts again. Luckily I was able to see day6 once live during their gravity tour and it was AMAZING. I went with my friend and it was our first 'kpop' concert so it was even more memorable. The best part was probably the fact that I was on crutches during that time and still managed to stand and have the time of my life during most of it because the concert was just that exciting. (I also just realized I unintentionally said two titles from their gravity album lol which you should definitely check out! It's probably my second favorite in the book of us series after entropy.)

I wouldn't say the rest of the Where's The Truth? album is exactly like these two songs because FTISLAND does bring the variety, but it does have a few other heavier moments as well, like in the song Paparazzi which has some really heavy moments mixed with an electronic style. I considered requesting that one, but I thought these two were the better option lmao Especially because the lyrics to Paparazzi are REALLY strange, but considering the name of the song I think you can get the idea they were going for. Highly recommend that album, though, if you wanna check it out.
