I think you're on the money and it all fits well with their Jungian, collective-unconscious concept. I share your opinion that this is a notch brighter than the bookending albums, which I personally also think about Gingamingayo relative to ring x ring and RMB. The soundtracks are amazingBTW. Wildly experimental instrumental remixes and re recordings. Finally, try giving Sun Palace from the next album listen right after Moon Palace- they're definitely related!
