2023-08-06 10:30:32 +0000 UTCI absolutely love to see artistic influence in music. I mean it's an art form . Most pop music is narrow in respect it has not much to say beyond its own existence . Which is fine it's to enjoy for the moment. Or a a groove that a person can just lose themselves in and there's nothing wrong with that ☺️ But it's great to see ideas in music. And an artistic approach even if it's just musically experimenting with sound styles and different eras. I loved this approach from Jaden with early Loona he reads a lot of mythology and especially classical art . And liked to incorporate eighties nineties music influences in his work too. GWSN . Took a very artistic approach BTS especially with Wings . And other groups have flirted with an artistic approach ..but it seems most pop is so formulaic it leaves no room for that. I'd love to see it more in the mainstream. The eighties in the west were very inspirational musically as there were artists taking radically artistic approaches to music and they affected the mainstream. Bowie cones to mind Kate Bush and many others. . This is beautiful, which I be honest I didn't elxpect from jyp. creative and inspiring and I think mainstream kpop is seriously in need of that .

PD had a good interpretation of it, that it's a lowkey commentary on the idol life. What's real, what's fake. Sana is seen posing in front of cameras but from the perspective of behind the scenes. Nayeon trapped in a small room with a bunch of cameras watching her. Mina with the VR, Momo taking off a mask,etc. Jeongyeon tearing down the iced up curtain or whatever it is, but when they fall to the ground you can see golden pill capsules mixed within and Jihyo taking a pill suggesting at what idols do to keep the "Real" image in front of the camera, etc, etc. Fanfare is just that song that can lift up anyone I feel like. There was a rumor that started even before it was released that it was gonna be used for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but since covid got it postponed we will never know the truth. I believe even Nayeon herself said something that sparked the rumors to start.
