2023-12-01 20:14:12 +0000 UTCCommenting as you question yourself about this, so my bad if you come to the realisation yourself later lol- The reason you were probably confused about Riize being a japanese group: remember when Sungchan and Shotaro were in NCT they were setting them up to be the Japanese unit, and a few of the riize members (Seunghan, Eunseok, etc) were introduced in that Welcome to NCT show under that pretense, they met with the other NCT units, they did a small variety show with Doyoung Jeno and Jungwoo in japan and everything. A mix of circumstances (japanese rookie shohei leaving because of an injury leaving them with a very majortiy korean group; weird stuff happening with LSM being ousted and acquisitions, leadership changes) ultimately led SM to pull the plug on that, remove SungTaro from NCT and have them be the new rookie group based in korea instead. The new japanese NCT unit formed through NCT lastart is full of young tiny baby rookies (at least they feel like that to people our age!).

2023-12-01 13:13:30 +0000 UTCMy reaction to El7z Up was basically the exact same as your one! That Hwiseo high note unlocked some demon shit in the girls. Also just a note on them I think even without a lot of new fans to their original groups most of the girls will probably unfortunately never get to perform at MAMA with their original groups so just for this performance it is probably worth it for someone like Nana and Yeonhee. Still holding out hope that all of their groups get to go to end of year shows but it is an uphill battle.
