It's difficult for me to say anything about his parents without seeing their side first, and seeing exactly what happened with them. The note can be seen as, "Well, what assholes, they took advantage of his highly active imagination, and abandoned him." But it's also BECAUSE of his potent imagination, that he's been able to cope with that since he was a kid. I really would like to know EXACTLY the events that transpired that led to his parents leaving, what they were thinking, and where they are now. Part of me suspects there's more to that than meets the eye, but on the other hand it could just be a simple-ass case of "shit parents abandoned their child." The poverty could have had something to do with it. Idk man. Also ironic that the First Pillar possessing Shinra made him weaker. Interesting. First Pillar best girl? JK. She cute though, ngl.
