I don't think all the witches are equal in power. Because one witch killed all the others. I forget which one. Echidna is dead. She's just a soul. So maybe it isn't really a matter of power. But like, She's drawing Subaru into another universe or realm or something where maybe curses don't work? Something like that.

I mean I like the crunchyroll originals of webtoons but I see them more as something like a crutch to help me stand while waiting on other anime to finally arrive after the virus screwed everything up. You know what I mean?? But still I do think Re Zero would at least be in the competition even if we had our normal anime schedule for this year before the virus became a thing.

Garf is fucking insane, and the bunnies were fucking terrifying (I actually turned away when I watched it for the first time, that's only the second time I couldn't watch a scene in anime, following that one in Goblin Slayer's first ep). That ending was soooo heavy. That got me right in the feels. On a positive note, it's clear now that Echidna is best girl.

2020-08-26 23:33:37 +0000 UTCIs it weird to say I think Re Zero is the best anime of the year so far? Or at least the best anime of the season? In my opinion of course. At first when I tried watching the first season a long time ago I didn't like how long it was taking for Subaru to get anywhere in the first couple of episodes. I dropped it on episode two. Later on I come back and give it a bigger shot and I binge the whole season in like one full day and am constantly keeping up with each episode this season. I honestly can't wait for the 2nd half of season 2 to get here. The only thing I didn't like about this series was the cringe right around the halfway point of the first season but it finally wrapped back around after a few episodes to give Subaru the development he needed. Plus the emotional appeal for this anime is almost as much as I feel with MHA which says a lot if you know how much I like MHA. If this kind of stuff keeps up and Subaru keeps progressing this will definitely be top 5 anime for me.
