Here's this SS type soldier made back when Momonga (or whatever) was a young chunibyu (it's a Japanese word that basically means talkative goth. Lol like the entire clan that Megumin from konosuba comes from). Meaning he made Pandora's Actor back when he was a teen and why he's so embarrassed and disgusted in it as an adult.

2020-12-14 01:16:09 +0000 UTCI think the reason you can see a lot of Nazish theme when you see soldiers in anime is because WWI and II weren't really taught in length until college in Japan. So you have these young authors trying to write a manga about soldiers and the first thing that comes to mind were their old war allies that tried to and almost succeeded in taking down the largest world powers at the time. People who didn't go to college and learned probably never heard or didn't completely believe/grasp the atrocious deeds of the Nazis and that's why you'll see shit tons of anime that portray soldiers in that style.
