Some sites have it as volume 0, but in actuality it’s a seperate series called “Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical School” and it has 4 chapters.

Like I said it's probably just the artist, but there is clearly similarities... You do know I'm not talking about the mom that was killed because of the finger right? I'm talking about the flashback the sorcerer had being a kid when his mom left.
