Like she saw what happened to the man she loved, how crazy he was after thinking it was all his fault, and decided to make herself out as the bad guy so he wouldn't feel like it was all his fault. Then they sent her to "Hell" because of it.

The project culminates in a series of anime shorts produced by various animation studios each year, thus why death billiard became death parade and was a full on series.
