When March died her fake older sister was also about to die but survived. Both her and rean got some form of goodbye from their loved ones( March and gugu ) because of fushi.

It wouldn't have hit as hard :( And seeing his face at the end just drove the nail in even further. Also, the thing with the rock bear and everything, superheated rock when it's instantly cooled down, turns real brittle. All that fire then instant cold from the ocean was too much. Other than that, get ready bc this whole part is honestly interesting. And this animation is so great. I'm glad this didn't get some low budget studio cuz the animation makes the emotions that much stronger for better or worse

2021-06-29 03:17:06 +0000 UTCI still think that the first guy was the most painful for me. He spent all of those years hoping for a better life only to have his hope taken right before his life. At least Gugu got a bit of happiness, even if he deserved more than he got. I feel like, in an odd way, Fushi is finding out how to make a positive impact on peoples' lives more and more, even if they are destined to end in tragedy. After all, no matter what happens, Fushi will always outlive those that he loves even if they die of old age.

As an immortal he's always going to experience the pain of outliving everyone. And we know that from any story about an immortal. But this anime actually has you fall in love with the people he falls in love with to experience the actual loss he feels. We are living Fushi's life with him and it's hard. Harder than just a speech about everyone you've ever known dying or witnessing it happen once. We've been there since he was a stone and loved and loss everyone he has. It's a hard anime to suffer through and that makes it brilliant.
