Sherm forgot about that nen doesn't disappear after the user dies. Think back on Kurapika and Meloreon. It was mentioned that nen after death becomes even stronger.

A lot of older shonen had arcs that where longer and dragged because they didn't want to catch up to the manga. Hxh's scenes are important. Welfin's scene was important for the future episode and when we inevitably meet gyro. I know people shit on this arc a lot but I feel like it is undeserved
