GINTAMA EPISODE 7 & 8 REACTION

People talk about how great Japan's police are, but they're actually pretty damn bad. They've killed several people in detainment just from binding their bodies up far too tight, sometimes using this weird device or even ropes. I think recently they tied up a diabetic man with rope and left him a cell for over 100 hours. The guy died. Others have died from asphyxiation due to the bindings. They're still operating on policing and detainment laws written in the 19th century. It's pretty barbaric.

Gintama is an extremely punny show. The kanji for the title, lit. means silver soul, taking the characters from Gintoki and Tamashi(soul). However Gintama as people have pointed out in the comments above, sounds like Kintama (which means testicles, the characters for which literally mean Kin [gold] and tama [balls] xD). Really gives you a sense of the amount of dirty jokes in this show.

Gintama literally mean silver soul based on the kanji reading and yes 'Gin' mean silver and 'Kin' mean gold, but pronunciation-wise Gintama can also mean silver balls as 'tama' can also mean ball(s) lmao

Yeah, lol in the very first episode, in the very first second is a long intro paragraph. Black background with white writing that says something along the lines of "Thank you for watching our new anime, Gintama, it's spelled with the character (insert japanese character here) that means "Silver Soul". Please don't use the character for Kintama (insert japanese character here) that means "testicles"

Unpopular take: I like the current HxH manga arc and am not in a hurry for them to get off the boat. The political intrigue, chaotic battles and 5000 named characters are all great.

lol hopefully you guys realise that Gintama is a satirical take on America's forceful opening of Japan's borders on 1853. The author's basically depicting the Amanto aliens (Americans) as having brought both technology (positive) and political strife (negative) to Japan.
