“Sorry video does not exist” error

I’ve been in contact with patreon about this and they have passed it on to their team. Hoping to have this cleared up soon, but until further notice all videos will have a password associated with them. Also, the remainder of Odd Taxi (10-13) will be uploaded later today.

There's a hosting site which plays the videos directly on Patreon if I'm understanding correctly and I mistook it for direct Patreon upload. Not sure about the hosting site currently, will look into it more.

2021-09-16 17:11:01 +0000 UTCThanks for the info!! I’ve never used Vimeo only bc I heard it’s expensive 🙈 right now I use Google drive, dailymotion and streamable. Dailymotion is free but it has daily upload limits (so you can just post like 3 or 4 videos less than 1h and less than 2GB). Streamable is pretty cheap. One of the websites got taken down - so I’m thinking there must be something we can do 🙈 but on the other hand, they easily made another one after a while and that will endlessly continue. Thankfully most patrons are here to support us regardless 🙏🏼 I hope this video issue is sorted out quickly!

So normally I would embed Vimeo videos as a private link, but Tuesday when I tried that users on the mobile app would receive the error “Sorry, this video does not exist” when trying to open it. I tried this on desktop version with no issues, and all the older videos already uploaded that had the private setting worked just fine. The password solution does work, but I believe if someone follows me on Vimeo they can still see the videos I upload just can’t access because they don’t have the password, so if they know the password, even if they aren’t a patron, they can still see the video which isn’t a very effective method lol. And yeah I’m aware of the patreon leaks, unfortunately not much can be done about that.

Some websites seem to be able to hack the Patreon main feed and people can access links from all posts :(( not sure if you knew about that, but just wanted to give you a heads up
