I agree with this take. The movie animation is dope, but it was made for people who had already seen the show in mind, so alot of stuff is skipped or rushed. It's still cool, but if you have to pick one the show is the better choice

I know you guys already decided watch movie but two other reactors ,SphericalFilms and LuffyTDs who reacted to Gintama both watched Movie version first and then episodes, both of them said it would have been better experience/reaction to watch the episodes as a first time watcher due to pacing and other stuff. These episodes are kinda mid tbh, but you're in for some great ones soon. Hot take though, I think the TV version of the benizakura arc is better than the movie. The movie is dope, but the TV version has better pacing and flow. They're both cool though
