They were going after the lizard men at first to see IF their corpses would be better than humans (since they found out that human undead are capped at a level they see as low). They were not sure in the beginning. After getting some they must have determined the corpses are roughly the same as humans as far as level of undead go. Thanks for the double drop!! :D

He never actually directly says what animal he’s using and he just let Ainz’s assumption that it’s sheep go uncontested, naming them “beasts” Abellion Sheep only after he hears Ainz refer to them sheep first. Yet he also gives a VERY odd description of the sheep he’s using; “Two legged sheep from the holy kingdom”. Also, while the lizard arc is overall a little weak and strange, the entrance of Ainz is by far one of the most hype moments in the entire show. It’s always fun to get these reminders that he is in fact a proper villain/raid boss, complete with flashy entrances.
