Like I thought he was the hero but somethings didn't match up and he turned out to be the demon lord and I heard wrong, or I'm thinking of it backwards and he was the hero and I kept thinking he was the demon lord. It's been awhile but I do strongly remember mixing Laplace up.

At least his voice and half-appearance I guess I kinda remember he was in a castle and he sent some guy to meet Rudy. The people were praising Laplace and saying that he was living in that floating castle for 400yrs or something. My memory is kinda vague though lol

Only if u have time tho cuz reading light novels does take time
