2020-03-02 10:57:28 +0000 UTCIt's actually because the early depiction of Orcs in Dungeons & Dragons (Pig men) in the 1970's/1980's was what directly inspired the designs of a certain EXTREMELY famous/popular JRPG series of games - Dragon Quest. Which is also what inspired uncountable amounts of Manga, anime, MMORPGs, JRPGs, etc, etc... It is also what most of these fantasy/isekai authors played growing up and inspired most of their works as authors (Dragon Quest that is). They even use the reference line "I'm not a bad slime!" in the anime as a inside joke with all the millions of players (in their word isekai'd otakus) that get the reference. It's extremely famous as one of the most well known lines in Dragon Quest as any non-enemy slime will say it as a greeting. Like the "took an arrow to the knee" line is to the Elder Scrolls games, fans will say this to each other/joke about it to this day..
