2024-05-14 01:53:47 +0000 UTCSo, my dad was saying that the way the Hashira have their swords placed to the right of them is historically accurate. In feudal Japan, samurai sat down with their sheathed swords placed on their right when around allies, to show that they are not hostile. The reason being that normally, the sheath is attached to the left hip, so if it was placed on the floor to their left, it would be a sign they were ready to fight at any moment. My dad was really impressed with that attention to detail.
