2022-08-14 21:42:59 +0000 UTCI am super surprised none of yall asked how Kyoko-chan knew how to drive! ^0^ Also there was a significance to the knives in the apple bowl during that whole scene. A knife appeared as each character walked in, but at the end, there was one missing. The question is who's knife was it? Was is Shirakawa who stabbed Dazai? Was it Fydoro who killed Shirikawa or was is Dazai who was never really with them and knew they would betray him which is why he his the pill in his mouth in the beginning to bring him back. Makes you wonder huh? Also you see what I meant about Dazai's coat and why I told you to pay attention? it changed color with every group he was working with. ^0^ The OVA will matter in S3, trust me. ; )

2022-06-07 05:53:23 +0000 UTCtheres a significance to symbolism involving the dragon and the tiger. having been someone who has done more than enough karate, and having learned about that at some point long ago, i hate that its taken me this many rewatches (through reactions) to finally (partially) notice and understand that aspect of the movie. as for what it means, all i really remember is that the dragon and tiger are something like rival creatures in eastern culture or something, and one always comes out on top over the other and always bc of the same reason. again tho, ive mostly forgotten, so take it with a grain of salt What's that? Nobody asked? ah...true. ill shut up now.

While technically filler in that it doesn't directly tie into the story of season 3, it still does add a lot of really good characterization for side characters, explains a little more about Atsushi's ability, and gives us a ton of really fun Chuuya scenes. You absolutely could skip this movie and understand season 3 just fine, but I definitely think that it helps make season 3 even better. Especially these first few glimpses into Fyodor.
