Unfortunately there is no deeper meaning or sabotage, just some damn bad luck. Always look before running out into the street boys and girls. Still I think even the most abused kid still has that moment when one of their parents died and will still grieve in some fashion like Dazai said. Some heavy shit in this episode for sure.
