2022-09-14 06:04:23 +0000 UTCthis whole episode I got ptsd because I was bullied in junior high school by some fucking idiots but I moved after a year because my parents work but we moved back after 3 years ok went to secondary school but unfortunately the ones who bullied me were there and I was in the same class as some of them, so I tried to just keep my head down so they didn't recognize me because I didn't want to go through the same thing that happened 3 years earlier, so this episode I felt ngl it's not easy at all to get over what happend

2022-09-14 05:34:51 +0000 UTCAs for how Ryuen knows to target her, it was because Ayanokoji threatened the people who bullied her on the cruise with the video of Kei being assaulted by them, so he knows someone anonymous is in her corner. I agree that the way they handle her past seems a bit off. I think it makes sense if they took the longterm angle where her being bullied before makes it easier for other classes to try and break her, but unless her past really does hold something wild her relationships at the very least should be fine. At worst people might look at her with pity, and maybe she's scared of being thought of like that? Idk lol. Hard to know without having context the novels probably have that we dont

Just like Kushida is still hung up on her past, and Horikita is hung up on getting her brother's approval, every character wears their weakness on their sleeve and it's up to them to overcome it. Even though these bitches are smart as fuck in this anime, we gotta remember they are still just 16 still unaware of their own flaws. It's much easier seeing what's wrong with others than it is yourself. Not everyone is self-aware. If that were the case, most of our characters (and even real life people we might know personally) wouldn't be who they are currently are now.

But if she can put on the tough front, she has to be prepared to back that up as well. People are always going to try you, how you respond will determine how they deal with you in the future. Hopefully she turns around and is able to move past this..

I edited my original comment a little too late before you replied, but I added: "To her, it's not about "What will people think of me if they know I got bullied?" It's all about, "What will people DO to me if they knew I was weaker than I appeared?" " Especially in this school where we've seen not only Ryuuen blackmail and physically abuse to get what he wants but also even Kiyotaka (with Kei's bullies and even Kei herself) blackmail and threatens, we know how little people genuinely care about others when they are able to get something out of you. Any easy target welcomes more hunters. And all her life, Kei has been used even by the guy she loves to get they want.

She went to them because they threatened to expose this past bullying to the school, say they do, so what? The kids that are her friends now are just going to cut ties with her because she got bullied for the clothes she wore, a big forehead, or whatever other prepubescent foolishness they chose to pick on her about? It's dumb imo. I understand the trauma side of things, but again, having gone through bullying myself, it's very much a mind state that you have to move past and not let it control you.

When people realize you aren't as strong and composed you try and appear to be, especially after you try and re-invent yourself only for more people to hurt you once again, it's triggering. Looking at this from the eyes of someone who experienced abuse, you begin to think, "If people knew I was this vulnerable/weak/helpless, that could welcome more people to abuse/hurt me." Kei literally got her stomach slashed (that's where her scar came from that was shown to us). That trauma doesn't just go away lol. It's not about "What will people think of me if they know I got bullied?" It's all about, "What will people DO to me if they knew I was weaker than I appeared?"
