2022-09-27 13:03:03 +0000 UTCI can't be expected to get attached to a character in the short span of a movie and have the amount of impact I expect to get from an anime movie. Even though it had some great character developments and developed onto the story the main character of the movie is someone I just literally got to know during the movie. It was a good story and all but even though jjk is great a lot of what pushes me away from jjk is that a lot of it is still just simply generic and overused storytelling in anime. Like the thing with Maki about how she was basically disowned or not wanted from her "clan" because she had some sort of issue. How many times do I have to see that same plot point in manga and anime? Even the MC's story was pretty basic and overused in manga/anime. I guess I just have certain interests at this point after years of watching anime. JJK is good and cool and all and I like it but I can't say its something I really cared much about.

2022-09-27 11:06:07 +0000 UTCFor me personally, its super easy to get attached to characters so I really enjoyed the movie. I don't think they were underwhelmed per se just expected it to be tough to get back into with out recent knowledge on the main series.

Honestly the movie was underwhelming to me but I generally have a hard time attaching myself to a series if I don't care much about the characters. If its just flashy animation its cool and all but I can't help but feel a little meh with a series that I have trouble with investing into and caring about the characters. Just me tho. I also think they were a little underwhelmed based on how they were acting but yeah.
