I never found her annoying tho lol I love her. These eps are really taking me back to the Manga and helping me remember why I loved it so much.

2022-11-16 02:42:24 +0000 UTCKobeni's great, but she definitely doesn't come out with a super stellar first impression in this arc. The reason so many people like her though is that she's honestly got the most realistic attitude of anyone here. She's not really doing this job because she wants to and she's, very understandably, absolutely terrified of the monsters she's seeing all the time. Like she said in this episode, her family didn't really give her a choice in what to do. It was this or sex work because they wanted to force her to earn money for her brother. She never wanted to be here and she just gets wrapped up in all sorts of bullshit. Later on, she has some moments to be a bit more grounded but right now she's just serving a comedic purpose. That being said, her car's still the better character. The popularity polls don't lie.

Having read the manga multiple times I'm super attached to all the characters so the small interactions between them all this ep were amazing. I also thought the direction was superb and really elevated the chapters they adapted to be better than the manga, but for anime onlys this ep might not have seemed that strong and fairly average.

But then again, they say you gotta have screws loose to survive as a devil hunter, and all that fear loosened the screws in her head. Maybe too much. XD Still, gotta give props to the VA for nailing that performance of someone just being completely consumed by fear.
