Ironically, because a bunch of morons spoiled the ending for me on a comment section, while I was reading a different manga series. So I know exactly how you feel. As for Kobeni, a few sane characters add a bit of flavor in shows like these. But personally, I don't like her either :D

She wants absolutely nothing to do with any of the nonsense happening around her, yet she'll continue to get forced into it over and over again. She's just so horribly cursed and wants a normal life, but just can't ever get it. While her struggles and suffering are funny to watch, she's still very relatable in that she really doesn't want anything to do with the monsters she's surrounded by. Which, let's be honest here, is an entirely reasonable thing to not want to be involved with. There's also the fact that she's actually quite talented and we still don't know which Devil she's contracted with, meaning she could legitimately be a powerful force. Despite her constantly being in horrible situations throughout the manga, she has still survived it all. Like Himeno says when she's first introduced, Kobeni has the skills but is just too cowardly. She always has the potential to actually become someone pretty nasty.

From what I gather, I don't think those who are fans really care about what she has or has not accomplished. I'm pretty sure at least half of it is just the kawaii factor. Maybe the other half is her just being a normal human being with realistic reactions to shit, so they feel she's relatable. Though inevitably there are ppl who have a thing for that type of personality in a girl lol. Just to put things in perspective. I can list off at least five female characters in this series whom I like more than Kobeni. She's pretty easy to shrug off and be like, "Oh, she exists. That's nice, I guess?" I actually didn't think she was anything special when I first read the manga, and didn't find out she was a huge viral meme and fan favorite until way after the fact. XD
