2022-11-24 12:13:17 +0000 UTCSome info for the Reanimated fam. This movie was originally supposed to be the "final movie". Sorachi didn't expect the show to get another season. That's why this storyline isn't canon, since the anime got renewed. The blight never show up again, and we don't ever know who the fake Kondo is. The actual backstory of Gintoki and crew takes place over this next season. The animation quality is astronomical as well. The better budget, and better studio got put towards this next season. It is, by far, the best season of any anime ever (in my opinion). All the comedy arcs, are absolutely hysterical. And! Episodes 300-316 start the serious stretch of Gintama. The first two serious arcs, and a good number of peoples top two arcs of anime, not just Gintama.

Sooo I wouldn't take anything that happened in this movie too seriously since It's not really connected to the main plot of Gintama. The anime will continue as if it never happened. The 2021 movie IS canon tho, and that reaction is gonna be insane. It's currently the highest rated anime on anilist, and for a good reason. Just in regards to yall's comments about it not showing the past. It's not time yet my boys π. W reaction tho yall had me dying.
