Yes, the elixir is the reason they regenerate (as the anime has told us). But there's gotta be a limit or weakness. What if destroying the core stops all that shit, and the core is Mei.

I haven't watched the reaction yet, but fun fact for our resident Hokage! -The guy who wrote Hell's paradise was an assistant to the author of Naruto for a while. That's why I was so happy the hand to hand part gave me Naruto vibes! They did this fight so well!
