If for w/e reason she needs to ask the princess for permission, then she should fucking do it and be out with it. Would really like an anime to break the trope once in a while of terrible communication between characters that should know each other.

Like maybe female elves are ill treated or made into bed slaves of some shit. I mean we know what this world is like and the guys here are nasty when it comes to women and demi-humans.
