The artstyle is way more consistent, it's paced infinitely better, and despite what Javon said: No. They are not even close to the manga in the anime. This episode animated chapter 1049, and we just got chapter 1092 in the manga. It's definitely worth a shot. I got into it back in 2009 reading weekly since. I would gladly re-read the manga, but not re-watch the show.
