People around him think that he's just a cold ass bastard. While it's true that he has a cold personality, it's mostly because of his mental illness. He can't express his feelings, or more accurately, he doesn't know how to feel emotions. Like, life is not hard enough in a society like this, things are even more hard for Miguel.
