August Portrait/Tokens | Mercenaries & Adventurers!
Added 2022-07-22 03:40:07 +0000 UTCAlright, you guys have chosen Mercenaries and Adventurers for the theme of August's Portraits & Tokens, so let's start some choosing.
I would like to do 50% male and 50% female.
I believe the next best way to choose would be the class you would most like to see represented. The top [8] classes will then be made. I will also likely randomly assign race to each -- human, dwarf, halfling, half-orc, dragonborn, gnome, tiefling and elf.
So, vote for the class you would like to see represented most and comment down below if you have any specific detail request(s)!

I was just looking at some data (I'm pretty sure pulled from DnDBeyond). From among the top 10 most popular races, I would say the ones that have fewer possible options are Dragonborn, Tiefling, Genasi, and Goliaths (some stats suggest Goliaths are #11). The safest ones to explore, I think, would be Tieflings and Dragonborn, which always show up in the lists of most popular player races, but unless I'm missing something, there just aren't as many portraits. Lots of elves, humans, dwarves, half-orcs....

2022-07-23 00:11:49 +0000 UTCIt's an interesting idea -- I wonder, though, if there's not a lot of tokens for those races because they're just not played a lot. My worry in making a bunch of obscure race tokens would be that they wouldn't be useful for most people, who will want to either use them for characters and/or NPC's in their world. That said, perhaps a SEPARATE portrait/token pack focused on a particular race seems like it would be useful.

2022-07-22 04:30:36 +0000 UTCOne thing that occurs to me is that some of the less-well-used races have so few portraits or tokens (I realised it while trying to find tokens for Githzerai and Yuan-ti NPCs). Would there be any way to see where there's gaps, like looking at which character races are most popular on DnDBeyond that don't have a lot of token art?
