Town of Greenest - Phase 1 Map Pack!

Illustrated Art by Azaamond.

The download URL for the map files can be found in a following "Tier Rewards" post specific to your tier, or on the Pinned post on the front page of the Patreon.

Welcome to the Town of Greenest, a location in Forgotten Realms and the starting scenario for Hoard of the Dragon Queen.

This is the largest single town map I've created to date, and contains defined interiors for the locations mentioned in the module (Mill, Temple of Chauntea, Greenest Keep), as well as some additional locations -- Town Hall, Townmaster's Mansion and the Tavern.

Also, this is the Phase 1 map, which includes the base level of all structures and the surrounding town on the same map. Phase 2 will include 2nd floors for the Tavern, Townmaster's Mansion, a crypt for the Temple and Greenest Keep will have a Cellar, Old Tunnel, 2nd Floor with Ramparts, 3rd Floor of the Tower and Top of the Tower.

Eventually, Phase 3 will include Greenest as it appears in the module, under attack and burning.

I prefer to create the base maps first, so that I know how the town felt and moved before deconstructing it, because then we can implement more immersive changes based off the ideas of the original map (i.e. animals loose, slaughtered, statues toppled, fences destroyed, etc...)

If you are NOT running Hoard of the Dragon Queen, then this is simply a great massive town in which to have adventures!

This town would make a great:

1. Starting location for the PC's to meet (in the tavern, of course).

2. Quest Hub, basing out of the town, while adventuring in the nearby area. I've even earmarked a building on the northeast side of town that would make a great Player HQ.

3. Destination, to which PC's have to travel and entreat with the local Lord or Lady for some favor.

I hope you like it, and can use it for all kinds of great adventures!

It does not take much. Build a template in Word that has the title and drop the text you put in the two emails into the word document. I am sad that on all the older stuff I do not have your thoughts and backstory to go with them.

Sure, I will see if I can add a writeup more consistently. I like to do them nicely and have some art and lay it out well, so they can end up taking time. And, after spending many days on a map, then spending an hour exporting all of the right file types and wrapping everything up, spending another hour or two writing up a document can sometimes feel daunting. ;)

I've thought the same thing for months now. I think a couple of the posts have had text files that are just legends of the building. But it'd be nice to have the backstory/bio of the location.

You give us such great information in these posts, but this information is not included as a text file in the downloads. If one does not copy from hear and create their own text file all this great information about the files is lost. I wish this was included as a text file in the downloads.
