Map Pack | Purple Worm Attack!

   Lady Telessa walked along the corridor, smoothing the front of her dress as she thought of what to say to the fat Lord Jiles and his quivering jowls. This was the first celebration she had thrown since her late husband's death, and the man was already slathering her in sweaty compliments. 

   Turning the corner, the warm lights of the ballroom met her gaze and the buzz of the guests filled the hall. Nearing the doorway, beautiful arched ceilings spanned overhead, and the dazzling sunburst chandelier spun light across the tiled floor. She had always loved this room. Its halls were filled with so many good memories. And, tonight, it was filled with many cherished guests, loved ones, a few family members and Lord Jiles.

   His beady eyes caught sight of her at the door, and a wolfish grin spread across his lips, the wrinkles in his face folding upon themselves like too many clothes shoved in a closet. He had just began waddling over to her when he stopped. His jowls were quivering. Not just his jowls, everything was quivering. Plates were rattling on the fine green and gold linen, serving tables were sliding gently away from the walls.

   An enormous crack suddenly sundered the beautiful white and gray marble floor where Lord Jiles was standing, as the monstrous body of a something dark exploded into the room. Heavy chunks of stone flew across the chamber, splintering tables and breaking chairs as the purplish flesh of the creature undulated forth from the massive hole. Its fanged maw opened and a wave of fetid breath filled the chamber.

   One of the visiting Knights drew her sword and charged the massive worm, a scream to Lathander upon her lips. Her sword bit deeply into the purple flesh, but was nothing more than a scratch upon the monstrosity's bulky frame. Its circular maw turned toward her and crashed down, enveloping her completely with the uncomfortable sound of tearing metal pierced by screams.

   Party guests flooded out of the chamber as the worm thrashed about, shattering furniture beneath its weight and seeking another morsel. Lady Telessa could do little but stand and watch in shock and awe, her silhouette illuminated in the doorway as her beautiful memories were shattered and broken.
