Next Map in Progress -- Tresendar Manor!

I likely won't get this one finished for October, but the next Phandelver Map(s) that I'm going to be creating are my interpretation of the ruined Tresdendar Manor, as well as a variant of a refurbished/restored Tresendar Manor that can be used for time-travel shenanigans, prequel homebrews or post-LMoP Adventures where your players may want to occupy and restore the building once they've cleared it out.

I will also likely release my version of the Redbrand Hideout beneath Tresendar Manor along with both of these other maps.

Comments, suggestions or ideas welcome!

These maps are certainly interpretations of the Mike Schley's maps. For the manor, I decided to base its size on the Redbrand Hideout, roughly matching the x/y dimensions of the foundation/base upon which the manor sits. It makes for a larger Tresendar Manor, but also provides some more space/area to move, explore and use (if you decide to use the space in the campaign itself). So, while it may not be 100% true to scale pertaining to the map, I still feel it won't feel out of place in relation to its downstairs equivalent (which is true to scale from the original map). That was the direction I took for it.

I love your work but I think there's a scaling problem IMHO. Based on Mike Schley's Phandalin map the manor is roughly 55ft long per 40ft large.

Thank you!

Alright, it's now linked and up on the Master Map List!

Jeff Todd

Hey Andrea! Thanks for bringing this up! I thought I'd posted this to the Master Map List, but I had not. It released in the beginning of November, but I will get the links for the rewards up on the Master Map List shortly! =)

Jeff Todd

I was just wondering when this pack is going to be posted.

Fairly simplified, because I don't want rebuilding the manor to be done in great detail (too many of us have managerial jobs for that to be fun!) So I just said: "Rebuilding the Manor will cost 5,000 gps to make it habitable and will take around four months if done in summer. Restoring it to its former luxury will cost an additional 5,000 gps. Restoring the whole noble domain associated with it will cost an additional 10,000 gps but would then provide a comfortable living for the whole group- not rich, but not by any means poor either". And I've just made them take a trek through the Dessarin Valley to Waterdeep to hire all the masons etc. having dropped hints that there may be people disaffected with the Guilds there willing to strike out to a new venture.

Hywel -- What rules have you been using for the hiring of the stonemasons/carpenters, timing, cost, etc...?

Jeff Todd

Progress on the renovated version of Tresendar Manor has been added to this post. I'm planning on doing the renovated manor first, then deconstructing that for the destroyed manor.

Jeff Todd

I imagine that would be a very frequent want/ask of DMs and their groups. That it be rebuilt as a player "base" of operations.

Jeff Todd

I don't want to over-generalise but every time I've run Icespire Peak the party have chosen to rebuild Tresendar Manor to use as their own base of operations. So making sure there's enough bedrooms for a "typical" D&D party and a bit of suitable decor to subtly suggest maybe "well this could be the Wizard's room, this one maybe the Cleric's" would fit in with what my groups would find useful. I don't know if other DM's groups do the same, though!

Hywel Phillips

Hywel -- if you have any specific features of the completed estate that you'd like to see included, let me know!

Jeff Todd

My players are just hiring stonemasons to rebuild Tresendar Manor, so this couldn't be better timed! Look forward to seeing them!
