ARDH: Ami & Sammi concept art!

The idea behind the design isn't very focused but i thought to make something inspired by late 90's, early 2000's anime imp creatures with a splash of emo/scene from the very start. Sometimes during early internet emo/scene characters were often drawn in pairs, both representing oposing energy: the good and bad. Ami and Sammi are both angels of the underground and they work in pair as friends so I didn't want an oposition of good and bad being expressed but i wanted a design that communicates an emotional contrast while putting both characters on the same field. Visually one is more angular while the other is more rounded, but they both have a unified spikey designs and share the same wings, tail ends, etc. that tells you they're both on the same team.
Ami and Sammi work in the same job in pair but they have different personalities. Ami, the emerald angel is pessimistic, aloof and defensive. Sammi, the pink angel is optimistic, enthusiastic and curious. Their chemistry works by complementing instead of pushing and distancing eachother and with their work toguether being an eternal affair they tend to form similar thoughs and ideas, which they express differently, very much according to their personalities.

In universe:

The angels' names Ami and Sammi come from two ancient deities of the spirit realm Agmon and Sammon, two spiritual servants. Their current names were adopted coloquially by online paranormal enthusiasts. The earliest documentation of the angels date back from the neolithic, with a cave painting depicting of two winged humanoids holding a "still-dancing" body. During the middle ages, the angels were thought to be demons that would take "delirious ravers" into hell to walk on hot coals for eternity. More modern interpretations of the angels are far more positive, some seeing them as symbols of good passage to "good humors"*.

The physical existence of the deities is a subject of instense speculation by the paranormal community, as their appearance are often depicted with having some tangible features. The most common patterns recognized by the community are the presence of loud energetic music coming from an area near the recently deceased, the aparition of two winged figures flying and dancing in the dark and faint sounds of whistling and clapping crowds coming from under the floor. Due to the alleged explosive nature of the spirit's activities, the creatures are often credited for innumerous urban legends.
The famous "Dead Raver" urban legend started a after the tragic death of a beloved local DJ on October 20 of 1998, during an illegal rave in an abandoned store. The weak floor where the artist was standing suddently caves in dropping the the artist into a fatal fall. The legend states that every night rave music can be heard coming from the pit, but nobody is present down there except for the lost soul of the DJ. Local paranormal enthusiasts have claimed that the music coming from the hole is a call to summon the two angels to chaperone the soul to the afterlife, where they can join the "good humors"* chamber.

*The "good humors" chamber, also known as "the balroom", "party" or "the eternal rave" is an area in the spirit realm where some souls go to experience euphoria for eternity.
