No Comic Update Today

Once again my fault for being very awful at being proactive and trying to get shit done ahead of time so this stuff doesn't happen and instead waits to the last second because I'm a lazy creator who would rather lay on a grassy hill on a sunny day talking about concepts and ideas, only to roll away from the person I'm talking to when they say "So when's it gonna be ready?"
Here's the rundown of events.
The past few weeks my mom has been texting me about family Christmas plans. The past few years we've celebrated on Christmas Eve since we're all adults and it's nicer to do shit in the evening. It also allows for my sister to go visit my brother-in-law's family on Christmas morning and they can do their thing.
So I've been getting these texts about if I'll be there and I go "oh yeah, sure. I'll be there for dinner." I also got multiple texts about being allowed to stay the night, but since I'm about a half hour away, and prefer sleeping in my own bed, I go "nah. I'm good." Thought it'd be kinda pointless to stay the night. That and I thought "I'll also work on the comic Monday during the day and blast through it and shove it off to Cooper to check it."
But apparently I haven't been reading the texts carefully.
What wound up happening was that my mom was not only referring to Christmas Eve, but a Christmas Day dinner in the afternoon too, which my "oh yeah, sure" comment was interpreted as "I'll be there both days!"
You know that way your mom sounds when you've disappointed her? Not in a she's mad at you way, but like "I'm coming to visit!" was actually "I was never coming to visit!"
So yeah, I'll be going back tomorrow.
Part 2:
I started writing the script for this chapter right around the start of that 2 week hiatus I took to work on learning the new tablet/improve my art a bit. What happened was that during that period, I wrote a chunk of it, and did some back and forth with Cooper on it. However, at the time I wasn't exactly sure how to lead into the next bit of the chapter. The plot points are there, but the nitty gritty stuff like actual dialogue and actions weren't quite developed. So while sitting there bonking my head on it, I went "Well, I've got about a month or so before I get to this bit. I have time to flesh it out."
Except now I'm sitting with 1 comic page left of material before I run out of script.
Bad planning on my part. I know. I suck.
So the option was to rush through the comic as quickly as fucking possible tonight, then pound the rest of the script between after coming home tomorrow and Wednesday morning so I can work on storyboards for Wednesday night to start drawing on the actual page.
Worried that that'll make everything turn to absolute shit due to being rushed as quickly as possible, I'm gonna work on the 1 page of story I have for Wednesday, giving me tomorrow night -> Saturday night to be prepared to work on the final page Sunday afternoon. This *should bring about a better story I think. It will also give me a few days to test out Google Sketchup to create a few location sets to assist me in doing perspective shots, as suggest by Cooper after the failure that was Madison's apartment.
There's gonna be a new minor character introduced, so look forward to that!
