The adventures in changing how I do backgrounds continues!
"There's nothing but a 3D model there YOU HAAAAACK!!!!" you say!
Well, yeah. Right now that's all that's there.
Being the great employee that I am, I spent a chunk of time at work talking to Cooper about backgrounds, and one method he suggested I try doing is the "lasso" method of drawing. Basically this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=peLlGOSm4Iw
My hope is that A: it'll make the backgrounds cleaner looking, and B: help the characters pop out more from the background. There's a lot of times where I outline the background and things become a confusing mess in terms of lines. A good example would be the railing at Kevin's apartment in older pages. Frankly, it looks like shit. Now, if I were to instead draw it without any sort of outline, it will (in theory) look more appeasing to look at.
Expect it early tomorrow morning after I wake up from my nap after work.
