Every wednesday I like to get a texas double whopper with cheese meal from Burger King as my "fuck it, it's comic day so I ain't givin' two fucks about my diet" cheat day for the week. Used to get those Jack in the Box munchie meals, but I started splurging for the whopper meal even though it's about $5 more. The munchie meals have more food and a wider variety, but damn is it kinda of mediocre. The additional 400 odd calories ain't worth it. What's the point in a cheat meal when it tastes kinda crummy and you feel awful afterward?
Was doing some story discussion with my editor friend on MGD. (If you're on the $20 tier you can read the entire convo on discord and spoil the series for yourself). I feel like there's a good foundation made for the series, but the hard part is the nitty gritty details. As the creator, I know where everything is going and how everything works. However, I can't let the characters themselves know everything right off the bat, but also can't withhold too many details and confuse the readers. It becomes this sort of balancing act. "How much should the characters learn at X part of the story? And when should they figure out the rest?" Also I've had months to work on a new character's personality and still haven't been completely satisfied with it. Then I come up with a idea, sit on it, throw it out, then think up a new one, which breaks something, then have to think how to fix it, then come up with something else entirely and throws something else off, etc. It's fun at least!
