Added 2018-03-08 09:58:37 +0000 UTCGoing through Yu Yu Hakusho, which I haven't really revisited since some years ago where I fell off during Genkai's tournament, so I started there. Entering the dark tournament arc now.
As a kid I first watched Yu Yu Hakusho when it was on Adult Swim or whatever block it was Saturday nights at the time before it was moved over to Toonami's weekday schedule. This was getting around the time when I started falling off long running shonen stuff, as the dark tournament wound up causing me to grow bored and fall off the series, so I never watched past the ending of it. At the same time I was also getting tired of the Buu saga in DBZ and started looking more forward to stuff like Cowboy Bebop and other anime on adult swim instead.
While I'm looking forward to seeing past the dark tournament arc this time around, I'm also feeling a sense of dread having to go through it again. Best thing to came out of that chunk of episodes IMO were the announcer monster girls. Middle school me totally had a thing for them.
