One thing about shortening the chapter is having to gut things to help move the story along to the ending quicker. This page is the result of having to rework getting the panties back, which is a bit anti climatic. At the same time I don't really have anyone to blame but myself as this stuff isn't necessarily written stone as I work on the comic. For better or for worse I go about working on the story using the "Hideaki Anno" method, whereas I have general plot points I want to get to, but I work on the seat of my pants waiting until the last second before the deadline to actually set it into stone. Sometimes it helps when I manage to come up with a neat idea I can expand upon in the story, or drop something that I can bring up again down the road. Then you get times like this. Goes to show I'm not that good of a writer. I can already forsee the backlash this and the next page will probably bring once it hits wide release. Ah well. Too late to change shit now.

The content that was cut was going to be Owen going out alone at night to fix the SUV as he didn't want to leave it out in the middle of nowhere all night and drops Elaine off at the motel before heading out. After hearing that Owen was going, Miranda decides to do Kevin a solid and go out to get the panties for him. Owen and Miranda then have a chat alone together as they walk to the SUV, with Miranda dropping clues that she's more aware of Owen's job than he knows due to her previously been working for the government.

Back at the motel Elaine and Kevin would've shot the shit together for a bit as there was nothing else for them to do with the TV broken. I never quite figured what the conversation was gonna be about.

Cut back to Owen fixing the SUV and Miranda grabbing the panties for Kevin, not being discreet about it at all. Shortly afterward a helicopter appears and Madison drops down with Owen's tools, going "Hey! So I felt bad about earlier and decided to swing by to help!" Of course she'd get there after the fact and winds up being entirely useless, which Owen makes sure she's perfectly aware. Madison is then introduced to Miranda and the group drive to the motel, where they find Elaine and Kevin having passed out on the bed.
