Every once in awhile I gotta push myself, and what better time to do it when it's not two people talking to one another. Also Cooper's gone back to his folks for the next few weeks and won't be online as for me to have instant feedback. This chapter has about two more pages, so afterward I might do what I did last year and make some non-canon short story and have Kevin wear a bodysuit of an anime character or something.
Got my copy of Octopath Traveler. Started playing it today but I keep dropping out to do something else. I enjoyed the demo, but the way the recommended level to start each character's story keeps going up as I start new ones yet the characters themselves don't level up kinda irks me. It'd be too easy if it didn't, I know, but I hate it when RPGs give you a huge cast of characters but unless they're in your party they don't level up. I've only now gotten a 5th character, so maybe they do level up and I just don't realize it yet. If not that's bullshit outdated mechanics that have no reason to exist in this day 'n age.

what i heard is the first character you choose is the character that stays with you through the entire game. i heard also that they each have a perk or something like the merchant letting you get cheaper stuff and buy stuff you normally wouldn't be able too the thief being able to steal stuff and others.

2018-07-16 04:45:35 +0000 UTCWith Octopath Traveler you have to switch characters, because that's the only way to see each character's story. It's basically 8 short stories that are disconnected and the only way to view it is having them in your party. And as you gain levels the minimum level requirement goes higher, but that character's level stays the same. For example, I started a new character's story and the minimum level requirement was 12, but the character who's story I started was only level 1. Once I finish it and move onto the next character the minimum level will be something like 15 yet that next character's level will still only be 1. And you HAVE to use them to see their story.

In games like FF7 it bugged me so much that the rest levled up anyways and became basicallt much worse due to not having materia. It made me feel like i could only use 3 or so characters and trying to switch between them was pointless.
