Playing Dark Souls on the Switch. It's the first time I've seriously gone back to it since playing it on PC when it was gifted to me by my brother in law five years back. Took a bit of to get into the groove of things but it's amazing how much I remember. Things like "oh, some guys are gonna jump at me down this hallway" or "when I start this boss fight I gotta immediately run to the left." I guess repeating shit over and over again years ago kinda left its mark in my brain. Would be neat to not touch it again after a few decades and see how I fair.
With it being on the switch jumping in and out of the game for a few minutes to play is really handy with the sleep function. Also playing it in portable mode while waiting for my laundry is super neat. Only major complaint is the audio quality is noticeably lacking. Some sound effects fair better than others, but when you roll into a bunch of wooden barrels/boxes it immediately becomes noticeable. Doesn't ruin the experience for me, but it makes me wonder why that's the case. I figure it's because Bandai/Namco opted for a smaller cartridge size than what Nintendo offers in an effort to cut back on costs. If that's the case then why not offer a downloadable patch to up the quality?
