Bah! I fucked up again!

Okay, so I'm pretty sure I won't have a strip ready again Monday. My fault. No real excuse. I'm just super bad at time management and worked on stuff that I probably should have spent on the comic instead (that splatoon drawing). I deeply apologize due to my lack of getting myself in order. I want to make it up to you. For start, I'll give you all the high res of the Splatoon drawing. It's REALLY fucking huge. 4800 x 23500 pixels, or 34 in. x 166 in. if you were to go print it off somewhere in 300dpi. Allow me to explain what that was gonna be and what it'll be instead. A few years ago I made a visual novel with some friends of mine called Dying With Thyself. If you google it you should be able to find some British guy doing a let's play if you don't feel like downloading it. Anyway, There is plans to rerelase it with shit tons of stuff fixed, text fixing and reworkings, and a brand new story. This will come out at some point in the future, but the guy who did the original character sprites ( his website is monor.us ) said I fucked up on all the backgrounds by making them more compressed than they need to be. I used the paper cut out filter in photoshop and I thought it was okay looking, so I dunno. so I'll let you guys be the judge. http://i.imgur.com/0jGTGRy.jpg

This is why I asked about who had android devices a little while back as I want you guys to look over it before its eventual wide release on the google app store.

Now, why has it taken so long?

Simple! The rerelease of Dying With Thyself was ALSO going to include a preview of the visual novel we started last year and was going to take place in the same universe as Dying titled Magical Girl Dallas. It's a gender bender story about a guy who becomes a magical girl with my sense of comedy and general dickery. However, since he started art school in Germany he doesn't have the time to work on the game much anymore. He made several sprites already, but really wants there to be more and REALLY wants it to see finished, he doesn't think he'll have the time for the next few years. I've had the first part of the script written since last year along with part of section two and a general outline for where the story was gonna go. While 8 hours into my shift at Amazon packing stuff into boxes and my brain wandering off into lala land, I thought "I should just rewrite it into a novel instead and maybe just get a drawing or two done for each chapter instead of a bunch of sprites."

So that's what I'm doing! I plan to release the first section onto the internet to gauge interest and see people's reactions. Then I plan to write the rest of the story into several novellas and sell them as ebooks and physical book/free ebook combos. To help you guys get an idea on how long it'll be, the first section (which I just finished rewriting like 30 minutes ago) wound up being 10,884 words, or 45 pages with size 14 Times New Roman font doubled spaced. After I release that for free on the internet and if there's interest I'll start up writing the second half then combine it with the first half and release $1 novellas around 20k words each until the story is finished.

Why the fuck am I saying all this? Well, I imagine you guys like gender bender stuff since you enjoy the comic, so I'll give you guys access to the first section before anyone else, hopefully tomorrow after a friend of mine goes through and does an editing job before I check over it again. Then if all goes well and I keep it up, I'll give you guys the second half for free too!

I really have to tell you guys, this story is a lot of fun in my opinion, and hopefully you all will be able to see it really soon, too!
