Been reading the manga biography of Osamu Tezuka, and let me tell you, the more I read the more I want to punch the guy in the face. He worked on too many things at once, to the point he was constantly running away from his multiple editors, with some editors even hiding him from each other, working ungodly amount of hours. Then he hired assistants and told them to do things with no context ("Draw three bodies here. I'll draw the heads and hands."). This style of working nonstop until you want to kill yourself became the standard for manga creators, which I imagine if you frequent anime you've at least heard about their shitty, nonstop working schedules.

Also the manga rarely shows him dealing with obstacles. Sure, there's a few times where life shits on him a bit, but then it's over with after a few pages and it's back to him getting in trouble with his college professor for drawing manga in class, with his punishment being to draw the professor, all with smiles.

I'm only about halfway through right now, but honestly, as a story piece I'd recommend A Drifting Life by Yoshihiro Tatsumi (his semi autobiography about his roll in the creation of gekiga) over Osamu Tezuka's biography, even though it sort of abruptly ends with a time skip to the author attending Tezuka's funeral.
