Went "fuck it" and decided to go ahead and focus on writing the next script and get some of the storyboards done instead of wracking my head on a short that has a very small window of being able to work in terms of story canon. Doing something similar to that Kevin x Angela bodysuit from awhile back. Next pinup will be a continuation of this.

Also, as you can see, I had one of my "good days" in terms of the art. I'll be real with ya: I totally wish I could make all the comic pages look like this. I really do. Problem is I'm incompetent and my bad days outnumber my good days in terms of art. Any time you see something that turns out really well, consider it a fluke on my part. Sometimes my hand just knows what to do and gets it done.

Nicely done. the colors look good on her and that outfit really pops.

And I just want to add that often as artists we're "too close" to our art journey. As we tackle each challenge we can already see the next. Sometimes it's helpful to stop, look back, and appreciate how far you've come.

In my experience, when you have these moments where you art exceeds your expectations it's not that you're "bad" or "crap", it's that your hard work and practice are starting to bear fruit. It's true you're not there yet to be consistent, but if you pound through it you'll find you've reached a new level in your art. I've been lucky enough to have caught your comic early on and the improvements are impressive and a testament to your efforts.

First off, NEVER say things like that. You're much better than you give yourself credit for. "Elaine" looks lovely in that dress, btw

seconded, any art takes work and can only be weighed against itself. what makes you a "Pro" is putting in the time and caring about your art. you do that. if you think any artist doesn't have moments of weakness you are wrong. it's those that bounce back from those moments, who work inspite of there doubts that are pros. you have continued to work when others would have just said "that's good enough" or "it won't really matter" that is what makes you successful. keep it up but don't ever doubt your talent. ever onward ever forward toward infinite stars.

Such language! But seriously, you aren't incompetent. Don't let impostor syndrome hit you too hard. I'm a programmer, not an artist, but it certainly seems like both professions have you flip between "I am god" and "I am shit" a lot, so I get where you're coming from. Before this Plague shit my cure for it was usually sushi, but yeah... raw food doesn't seem totally safe for the foreseeable future :(
