After hearing the hype about 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, I decided to grab it while it was on sale during Black Friday Week(s). Honestly I had no idea going in, outside of that it's supposedly super good, and that Yoko Taro said to buy it.

Man, I can totally see why Yoko Taro loves that game. The story totally fits his style of non-linearity. You've got characters going backward in time, forward in time, it's a dream, amnesia, stories happening out of order and crossing over one another, repeating story beats except with variations at times, a girl runs around in her bloomers, death and destruction, a talking cat, maybe this one person is this other person except they're a kid in WWII but in their 20s in the mid 80s yet also in 2086 but they're also hanging about in 2105 except they're killed in 1985 yet not really except maybe but they might not be who they are at all, and so on.

The actual gameplay is a real time strategy esque like thing with really minimal graphics. It's eh. The adventure game mode part, though. Whewy! It's got that awesome as hell Vanillaware artwork with a great attention to detail. Course I'm only 7 hours into it and who the fuck knows where it's gonna go, but if you like Yoko Taro's stuff you'll definitely get something out of it.
