Spent the afternoon celebrating my mom's birthday with the rest of the family. It was nice. Haven't been able to see her too much in person in the past year due to covid and her being high risk due to cancer (I'm not going further into this), but she's gotten her vaccination and rest of the family are either halfway there or got both shots. Even so we still acted with caution and celebrated outside.
I've been continuing to get on the treadmill, along with going on about a two mile walk afterward to the grocery store and back throughout the week. As great as the extra exercise is and calorie burning, I wind up letting myself go in terms of letting loose in what I eat. It's a real bad habit. "Oh! I burned X amount of calories! I can now reward myself with absolute garbage junk food!" Kinda defeats the purpose of the extra workout! If anything it helps keep the heart in shape, at least. Better than no exercise at all and all that.
