Wrote up the christmas story today while at work. Kinda went in with this Rankin Bass mindset with the narration, but you guys should know me by now how it'll wind up executed. The whole thing revolves around bodysuits in case you're worried it's gonna be some short story with a special christmas lesson or whatever. Well it's not.
Unrelated work story:
Ever since I started eating microwaveable eggrolls at work I've used the foam plates they provide in the break room. Now, in case you don't know, foam plates aren't exactly microwave safe. Every time I cook my eggrolls the plate would always melt where the packaging for the eggrolls were. Wound up placing a few paper towels over the plate to act as a buffer.
Anyway, on Sunday I decided I was tired of doing that shit, so I bought a package of 170 paper plates. The thick kind. Not the thin garbage that collapse after you cook something on it.
Monday, Tuesday, and this morning it's all fine and dandy. I'm using the plates. Some of my coworkers are using the plates. Everyone's happy. Then comes lunch time and the entire fucking package of plates is missing. I'm talking like 150+ plates up and vanishing. I look all over the break room and can't find them. When I ask my coworkers they don't know what happen to them either. Thus we go about a search for the missing plates and come up dry. Either someone moved them for no reason in some location nobody knows, or someone took them all. I hope it's only the former because taking 150+ plates is a dickass move.
Because I'm petty and fucking hate it when people pull shit on my like that, I drove over to the closest Walmart and bought another package of 170 plates. When I got back to work I wrote all over the thing "Leave in break room -Megazone". If they go missing again I'm gonna be pretty damned pissed. More so if it's someone taking them. I can sorta understand someone being dumb and taking the package as there wasn't any indicator that they should be in the break room, but now there is.

What you could do is craft glue the bottom half together, that way people can still use them as they need, but when they go to steal the lot, BAM! Stuck together! Or you know, just not do that... (...like a normal person) Could just be like you said, and someone just thought they didn't belong. But knowing is half the battle! And now they know, so you can just G.I Joe their asses if it happens again or you catch them in the act. Or at least glare at them disapprovingly...

2018-11-25 06:16:39 +0000 UTCI've found that if you leave stuff somewhere in plain view where folks are going to notice immediately that they are missing, they are less likely to go missing. As soon as they are in a cupboard or draw, bam! gone. We had the same issue at work with plastic teaspoons, so I put them in a Chinese food container next to the coffee machine, and all of a sudden they seemed to no go missing as much. That, or put rat poison on just one plate, let everyone know that you have done so, but don't tell them which one.
