Added 2019-03-18 03:44:44 +0000 UTCFinally got to hang out with some friends of mine last night. Our original plan was to hang out on New Years, but due to circumstances it was pushed back. Then it was pushed back again because one was sick. The downside of adulthood: it's a royal pain in the ass to get together with friends at times.
Part of the issue is distance. When I was a kid if I wanted to hang out with someone I'd just hop on my bike and ride to their house. These days it's almost a half hour drive down the toll road. By the time whenever we're done hanging out it's usually past midnight, and it sucks for whoever has to drive because more than likely their tired. There's been a few times where I'm the one driving home and praying I don't wind up ramming some guy driving 20 miles below the speed limit on the highway. Dallas can be weird when it comes to driving. If you're in residential streets everyone goes 10 over, but go slower than the speed limit on the highway.
