This Saturday I'm finally getting a new (to me) car.

I've been driving the same 2000 Mitsubishi Galant for the past 11 years. My first and only car that I bought off my parents. The fucker has like 224,000 miles on it and it's finally time to send it off to car hell or wherever it is that cars go after. It wasn't a bad car per se, but man has it given me anxiety over the years. The connection to the headlight has been fucked for years, resulting in it going out randomly while driving and getting me pulled over twice on the way to work to Amazon by the same police officer on the same street within a month; the connection for the battery had gotten loose and resulted in the car crapping out because after reconnecting the battery the car stalls in the middle of rush hour traffic/battery connection becomes loose/I'm fucking popping the hood on the goddamn street to get the fucker connected again/praying to god it doesn't stall again on my way to work; the axle was apparently cracked at one point and could've fucking broken apart while driving, resulting in the wheel disconnecting from the car; would flood whenever it rained, resulting in the bottom of the car flooding and having to drill holes underneath the car to permanently let water drain; car light consistently came on and no matter what was fixed resulted in it staying on for a decade (Figured it out about a year ago why but I'll refrain from saying why because it was so fucking stupid); motor for the driver side window crapped out on a night that was to rain, resulting in me leaving the window down at my apartment complex while taking out anything important just in case someone casually opened the door to steal anything; volume control on the radio becoming fucked where it takes 3 minutes of turning the dial down, only for the volume to turn full blast and refuse to lower until some magical trigger was hit and allowed it to finally lower; the power steering craps out whenever it rains; and more that I have a hard time remembering right now.

It's seen its share of injuries, from getting rear ended to having its mirror broken because the person next to me wasn't paying attention and tried to merge into my lane when I was there (and then drove off). Tire blown out on multiple occasions. Radiator hose cracked while going down the highway, spewing oil all over the engine and burning (where do you think I got the idea for the motel chapter?). It's been scraped in the parking lot by another car.

But somehow, after 19 years, it has the same AC unit that came with the car. A true Christmas miracle.

Anyway fuck that car. I'm upgrading to a 2007 Honda! It has an auxiliary jack for my phone! No more dealing with CDs and a bluetooth speaker sitting in the passenger seat!

Yep, when my Saturn gave out I went with a Honda Civic. Honda gets great reviews from everyone I talk to whose owned one.

Oh yeah Hondas are fucking great. I have a 2009 Accord that was originally my Mom's, then it was my Dad's who due to frequent business trips put nearly 200,000 miles on it. It's currently at around 225k miles and she still runs like a fucking dream. They'll certainly last a really long time if you treat them right.
